Hotel Review: Izumi Hotel at Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

I always wanted to be close to city conveniences like any other leisure traveller. So when we decided to have our honeymoon in Kuala Lumpur, my target was to book a hotel located in Bukit Bintang. We were tempted to stay in either Piccolo Hotel or Wolo Bukit Bintang Hotel because both have great reviews. But we were more enticed with Izumi Hotel which offered a better price for our 4-day stay with buffet breakfast at Izumi Cafe. It is a fairly new hotel in the center of Bukit Bintang with just a few feedbacks online. I just relied on my intuition and continued with the booking.

We took a non-stop train service via the KLIA Ekspres from the airport going to KL Sentral. It was a comfortable 33-minute journey followed by a 20-minute monorail ride going to Bukit Bintang Station. The big signage placed at the main road is definitely a big help in finding Izumi Hotel from our drop off point. We followed the signs to where it was leading us and we finally reached the hotel situated beside Hotel Fortuna and in front of a park.

Our experience in staying at Izumi Hotel was beyond expectation. The staff who assisted us made a fast and easy check in. Our Superior Room with queen size bed smells clean and new. We can even see a part of the Petronas Tower and KL Tower from the window. These two attractions plus a lot more can be easily accessed from Izumi Hotel either by foot or by public transportation. We used an air-conditioned walkway which is connected to Pavillion Mall to see the iconic Petronas Tower as well as KLCC Park and Suria. Another option would be using Malaysia’s free Go KL bus which also took us to Chinatown and Central Market. There are two bus stops near Izumi Hotel. There’s one in front of 7/11 and the other in front of Pavillion Mall. That’s an equivalent to a few energy saved and a few Ringgits kept for other stuff like “pasalubong”. We also experienced taking the monorail at the Bukit Bintang Station which is just a few steps from the hotel. It connected us to KL Sentral where we took the bus going to Genting Highlands and the KLIA Transit going to Putrajaya. For food lovers like me, I definitely enjoyed the hotels proximity to Jalan Alor, Hutong Lot 10, and Food Republic. There’s also something for those who’s into fashion. Nearby shopping centers such as Pavilion Mall, Starhill Gallery, Fahrenheit 88, and Sungei Wang Mall made the area a great spot for retail therapy. Izumi Hotel definitely played a big role in making our vacation stress free.
