One of my friends recently moved to Singapore for a new life. We met each other in 5th grade and the bond continues until now. That makes it more than 20 years (…yes we are in our 30s! LOL!) of friendship made up immeasurable laughter and sometimes tears. We share a lot of things in common including our love for food. Months before she left, we had a series of food trips and Shi Lin was part of it.
We were in Alabang Town Center with no idea of where to eat. But we were certain that this time it should be a cuisine other than American, Filipino, or Italian which we just had days before. While strolling along the mall’s newest wing which opened in 2011, we found Shi Lin together with other popular restaurants and shops. From its interior, our first impression was that they are offering Chinese food. It is in fact categorized as a Taiwanese restaurant with Xiao Long Bao and Steamed Buns as their most popular dishes. But that day we decided to try dishes that are not really in their best seller list. We had fried rice, congee, pork chop, and shrimp and pork shaomai for our dinner at Shi Lin. That’s a four course meal just for the two of us and that’s just how we love eating so much! There’s even no left overs not because we were too hungry. The servings in Shi Lin is quite small in my opinion. Overall, we enjoyed the food but I am not quite sure when our next visit is going to be.
